At EFAD’s General Meeting, participants had the unique opportunity to engage with the Dis4Food project through an interactive workshop. Led by project coordinator Stephania Xanthopoulou and Dr. Antonis Vlassopoulos, the session opened with an introduction to the project’s vision and objectives. This was followed by focus group discussions to uncover dietitians’ needs and knowledge gaps regarding food data infrastructures.

Through these conversations, participants explored key questions: What does it take to access and trust food data? How can dietitians integrate digital food systems into their workflows? These insights will shape the development of targeted tools and resources designed to bridge the gap between dietetics and digital innovation.
Dis4Food represents a significant step forward in ensuring dietitians remain key players in the digital transformation of healthcare. By enhancing food data literacy, the project aims to strengthen dietitians’ ability to make data-informed decisions, ultimately improving nutritional care and patient outcomes.
Stay tuned for more updates as Dis4Food continues to pave the way for a digitally empowered future in dietetics!
